Qiqi is a playable Standard Banner character in Genshin Impact. She is a zombie child who was resurrected by Liyue’s Adepti (godlike creatures) and is currently an employee at Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue Harbor.
Qiqi is a good healer for early-game players, but she gets outclassed in the endgame by the likes of Baizhu and Kokomi. Jean, who is also a Standard Banner character, is arguably a much better pick than Jean. That being said, you should always build the characters you like, and if you like Qiqi, you should build her. Genshin Impact Qiqi Abilities
Here is a quick rundown of Qiqi’s abilities.
- Adeptus Art Preserver of Fortune (Elemental Skill): Qiqi marks nearby enemies with a “Fortune Preserving Talisman” to deal Cryo damage. Enemies that get hit by the talisman regenerate HP for Qiqi and other allies. The Skill has a 50% chance to apply the Talisman whenever you use a Normal or Charged Attack with Qiqi.
- Adeptus Art Art of Preserver of Fortune (Elemental Burst): Qiqi summons a Cryo field that deals area-of-effect (AoE) damage. The Burst lasts 15 seconds, and using Normal or Charged Attacks with Qiqi heals all allied characters. This is especially important against the more powerful enemies in Genshin Impact.
- Adeptus Art Herald of Frost (Passive): When Qiqi hits opponents with her Normal and Charged Attacks, she has a 50% chance to apply a Fortune-Preserving Talisman to them for 6s.
- Fortune-Preserving Talisman (Passive): Characters that attack enemies marked with the Fortune-Preserving Talisman gain a 20% ATK increase against those enemies.
- A Glimpse into Arcanum (Passive): When Qiqi crafts Weapon Enhancement Materials, she has a 10% chance to double the product.
Qiqi has excellent healing and is a useful character for any early-game player. The biggest downside of using her is that you need to use Qiqi on-field to get the full effect of her healing.
This hurts your team’s damage output unless you have a party of off-field damage dealers like Fischl, Xiangling, Nahida, Xingqiu, and Yelan, who can deal damage even when they are not on the field.

Best Weapons For Qiqi
- Sacrificial Sword: Sacrificial Sword is by far Qiqi’s best weapon if you want to maximize her healing output and skill uptime. Qiqi’s elemental skill cooldown is very long, and Sacrificial Sword can reset the cooldown with its passive. It is a 4-star weapon, which means that it is fairly easy to acquire from any of the game’s banners. It also has a large amount of Energy Recharge to boost Qiqi’s Burst uptime.
- Favonius Sword: If you do not have a Sacrificial Sword, Favonius Sword is a fantastic alternative. It does not have the same Elemental Skill reset mechanic as Sacrificial Sword. However, it can generate energy particles for your whole team.
- Aquila Favonia: Aquila Favonia has a very high base Attack stat, and its passive heals you when you take damage. It is the best 5-star sword for Qiqi if you want to improve Qiqi’s healing at the expense of ability uptime.

Best Artifact Sets for Qiqi
- 2-Piece Maiden’s Beloved and 2-Piece Gladiator’s Finale: The 2-Piece Maiden’s Beloved set will boost your healing output, and a 2-Piece Gladiator’s Finale set (or any ATK% Bonus set) will help boost Qiqi’s total attack value. Unlike a lot of other healers who scale with HP, Qiqi scales with Attack, which makes Gladiator’s Finale and similar sets very valuable.
- 4-Piece Ocean-Hued Clam: If you want to use Qiqi on-field, the Ocean-Hued Clam set can boost her damage significantly.

How to Use Qiqi in Genshin Impact
Use Qiqi’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst whenever they are available. Qiqi does not have instantaneous healing like Jean or Barbara, so you should try to keep everyone’s health topped up. For an on-field playstyle, use characters like Xingqiu and Fischl to deal damage off-field, while Qiqi will Normal Attack enemies on-field.
If you do not want to use Qiqi on-field, you should swap to her only when you need to heal.
Remember: Qiqi cannot heal you without using her Normal Attacks. You need to attack enemies a few times with her to refill your health bar before swapping to a different character.
Best Teams for Qiqi in Genshin Impact
Qiqi can fit into any beginner team in the game if you need a healer. She is a flexible unit that you can include in your open world or Spiral Abyss teams. There are a couple of endgame (Spiral Abyss) teams where she is viable.
➡️ Electrocharged
Team: Qiqi, Yae Miko/Fischl, Beidou and Xingqiu/Yelan
This team relies on Electrocharged reactions to deal AoE damage to enemies. Characters like Xingqiu, Yelan, Fischl, and Yae Miko can deal damage off-field, so you can use Qiqi on the field to trigger reactions and heal the entire party.
➡️ Freeze
Team: Qiqi, Rosaria/Chongyun, Xingqiu, Sucrose
This is a fun free-to-play team that makes use of the Freeze reaction. We have two Cryo units and one Hydro unit to Freeze enemies permanently. Sucrose is a 4-star Anemo grouper, but if you have Venti or Kazuha, feel free to use one of them.

➡️ Eula Superconduct
Team: Eula, Qiqi, Fischl, Beidou
The Superconduct reaction boosts Physical damage for your party, and Eula benefits greatly from it as a Physical DPS. However, her Cryo application is poor, which is where Qiqi comes in. Qiqi can apply Cryo with her Elemental Skill and Burst and trigger the Superconduct reaction when paired with Fischl and Beidou.

Qiqi can be a consistent healer for any team, and if you are a new player, she can help you clear content comfortably. She has a few viable teams that work reasonably well in the endgame, so you should build Qiqi if you like her and do not have characters like Jean, Bennett, or Kokomi.
