Marvel’s Spider-Man has already garnered a lot of headlines in the past few months. Sony has now dropped the story trailer of the game along with a promo of the limited edition PS5 console based on your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The trailer and the console were revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2023.
This time, we are going to see Peter Parker’s best friend, Harry Osborn, transitioning into the main antagonist of the game Venom (apparently). Now, this is the first time that Insomniac could represent Osborn as Venom. Surprisingly, there’s been no mention of Eddie Brock in the trailer – the original Venom that we know and love.
Until now, the character was portrayed as Venom only in Spider-Man movies and comics. Moving further, we will do a trailer breakdown followed by the details regarding the special edition PS5.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Story Trailer Breakdown
The trailer kicks off with Peter Parker having a word with Harry Osborn. At the same time, the players who have had their hands on the first version know that Harry was seriously ill.
But here in the trailer, he talks about getting another chance. The trailer further moves to Parker introducing Harry to his friend Miles Morales, and his significant other, Mary Jane Watson, in an event that looks like a carnival.
In a moment, the trailer takes a breathtaking turn with the entry shots of Kraven the Hunter and Venom. The trailer keeps you on the edge of your seat with its spectacular graphics and stupefying scene settings. It gets highly intense with the action sequences of Miles Morales and Peter Parker in their Spider-Man avatars.
Adrenaline rush gets at its peak in the scene where Harry can be seen standing at a rooftop paired with Venom’s dialogue, “We are going to heal the world”. And then we get to see Venom annihilating a helicopter. The trailer ends, followed by the title and launch date of the game.
Sony’s Limited Edition PS5 Bundle
Sony, to make the most profits from Spidey’s hype, has also unveiled a limited edition bundle consisting of a code for a digital version of the game, a console, and a controller covered with the skin inspired by Spider-Man’s red suit being consumed by the pitch black Venom symbiote.
On the other hand, the DualSense controller of the PS5 will also have a skin inspired by Spider-Man, where we can also see the symbiote consuming the red suit of Spider-Man. However, if you already have the console, then you can simply purchase the console covers from the official website of PlayStation.
As of now, there is no update on the official pricing of the cover. Nonetheless, speculations are that it will be available between a price range of $55 to $65. One thing people should know is that the bundle is not available for the Standard Edition PS5. It is only available for the PS5 Digital Edition. Pre-orders for the same will go live on July 28 through PlayStation Direct.

The latest story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will undoubtedly contribute to the hype of the game. The customized skin covers and limited edition bundle will work as icing on the cake. The game will debut on October 20, 2023; it is already available for pre-orders.
