Gaming season is always on for true video game enthusiasts (at least we try to keep it on, despite our other obligations!). So many quality titles out there, so much to experience, and very little time to play all of them. I’m sure you have kept plenty of games on your wishlist but haven’t got a chance to buy them. For this reason, the Steam Summer Sale 2023 could help you find some gems at discounted prices.
The Steam Summer Sale 2023 kicked off on June 29 and will continue till July 13. That gives you almost a fortnight to make up your mind on which title to buy. There are some pretty swell deals on mega game franchises. Here we list our five unmissable deals to sink your teeth into a new gaming adventure.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
Call of Duty Modern: Warfare II is the sequel to the Modern Warfare reboot that happened in 2019. One of the highlights of the game is the inclusion of Task Force 141 Operators. Modern Warfare II will see Captain John Price, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, Simon “Ghost” Riley, John “Soap” MacTavish, and Colonel Alejandro Vargas in action, along with others.

There is something in Modern Warfare II for everyone. If you wish to experience it solo, there is a single-player campaign that takes you across the world. The campaign story will feature different missions set in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The missions are of varied types; some require you to deploy from 30,000 feet above enemy locations for quick assaults, some will make you fight underwater, and some are stealth-based missions.
Then there is the Multiplayer, along with co-op Special Ops missions. Should you wish to deploy alongside friends in Battle Royale, you can do so in Call of Duty: Warzone, which comes bundled with the pack.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
If you haven’t explored the world of video games in some depth, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is the game to play if you love team-based tactical shooters. Chances are you have already heard of it, if not played. Rainbox Six Siege gives you plenty of operators to choose from; each comes equipped with a specific skill set that can be leveraged to maximum efficiency as per your gameplay style. If you love variety in gameplay, then by replacing operators in your team, you can change the way you approach the game. In short, Rainbow Six Siege can become a playground you may not get bored of soon (or ever).

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege pits you into battle against enemies in 5v5 matches in an attack vs. defense scenario. There will be a multitude of gadgets for you to deploy. With these gadgets, you can know the position of enemies, destroy walls, and make new paths by breaching ceilings and floors. The game is heavy on close-quarters combat and requires tightly-focused coordination among teammates.

Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition
Well, well, what should we say about this one? Microsoft’s Age of Empires (AoE) is a franchise known for its highly-popular real-time-strategy games. While old timers swear by Age of Empires II, the younger generation had a gala time playing Age of Empires III (with the Asian Dynasties that added the Indians, Chinese, and Japanese as playable civilizations). The latest in the bunch that’s also got a price cut during the Steam Summer Sale 2023 is Age of Empires IV Anniversary Edition.

Age of Empires IV Anniversary Edition comes with new civilizations like the Mongols, the Ottomans, and the Malians. What’s different and new from the previous iterations? You can get your soldiers to man the walls and rain arrows upon enemy troops! There are siege towers to storm someone’s citadel. Plus, you get trebuchets this time to sling those heavy shots from afar and bring down the opponent’s walls. The game gives you new campaigns to discover the stories of civilizations you may not know.

Elden Ring
It seems like Elden Ring lived up to the hype. The highly-anticipated single-player fantasy role-playing open-world game of 2022 was received warmly and soon rose to top-selling charts. Elden Ring features an original story co-written by acclaimed Game of Thrones creator and writer George R.R. Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki, game director of Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

If you haven’t kept a tab on the fantasy RPG, let’s debrief you a bit. Elden Ring is a game designed keeping deep immersion and exploration in mind. It is set in the fictional world of The Lands Between. This world was once blessed with the divine grace of Elden Ring, a magical artifact, and The Erdtree. Over a period of time, some gifted individuals (The Tarnished) fell from grace and were banished. But when the Elden Ring gets shattered, and chaos erupts, the exiled Tarnished are called back to the magical land. You play as a descendant of those very people.
In Elden Ring, you can choose from various playable classes like Astrologer, Bandit, Confessor, Hero, Samurai, Warrior, Vanguard, etc. As for the challenges, there are many. The open world of Elden Ring has been carved up into different territories by powerful bosses. You’ll have to fight them.
In the vast world of Elden Ring, you will get to meet several characters and will also explore the world that lies below the surface.

Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 2 is the reboot of the older 1998 game, built for modern-day survival-horror adventure freaks. The remake adds an over-the-shoulder camera mode and modernized controls.

The game is set in the fictional Raccoon City, where a virus outbreak is turning people into flesh-devouring zombies. There are two separate campaigns the game offers. In one, you play as police officer Leon S. Kennedy, while the other is with Claire Redfield, one in which she searches for her missing brother. Hence, you can live the adventures of two people in a single game.
